There’s always a special place in a true-blue fashionista’s heart for luxurious timepieces. A watch blurs the line between fashion, art, and engineering like no other item in one’s sartorial arsenal, and it’s this quality that awakens a watch lover slumbering within so many of us.

The customised variant of the Fiat 500 dolled up in Gucci stripes and Guccissima leather, has finally reached our shores. At an exclusive event held last week at Gucci’s Dubai Mall flagship, the two iconic Italian brands jointly presented the quirky little fash car to the city’s VIPs.

Spending four days in Berlin could have tired our bodies but we could not say no to roaming around the laid-back but more elegant city of Munich as we were told about the must-visit shopping area of this Bavarian city.

Never mind the Summer showers or the long drive from Flughafen München (the airport) that is if you’re about to check in to The Charles Hotel. This was exactly how we felt when we set foot in the lobby of the hotel, ushered in by the friendly and polite doorman.

In our efforts keep our summer European escape productive fashion-wise, we ventured to get some sartorial inspiration from two entirely different, yet both equally exciting German cities – Berlin and Munich.

Shopping in Berlin may not be top priority for tourists but still it was a must for La Moda to check out the city’s main districts for fashion. So, off we went on an adventure train ride to Berlin’s most popular shopping artery Kurfurstendamm, or Ku’damm as locals call the place.

There was no denying our excitement to finally set foot in the birthland of fashion stars Karl Lagerfeld and Heidi Klum, and there was no hiding our amazement as we arrived at what would be our chic home in the German capital, The Ritz Carlton Berlin.
