When Anna dello Russo’s accessories collection hit the stores earlier this month, we asked our local fashion insiders if they were going to get in on the shopping action to buy a few collectibles from the exciting collab. Most said yes, however some held out for the upcoming Maison Martin Margiela collection for H&M.

And we couldn’t fault them for not shelling out for a few pieces of AdR’s ostentatious styles. From the broad fashion spectrum, some prefer reflections of sartorial excess – and AdR’s turquoise and gold fusions did a wonderful job achieving that aesthetic – while some prefer simplistic designs whose colours are so neutral that they let the fantastic silhouettes do the talking. It’s the signature Margiela look, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing from the recently unveiled H&M lookbook.

Launching on November 15 at selected stores worldwide, the collection features monochromatic ensembles with touches of metallics, all framed by wonderful cuts that resonate with the tastes of alternative fashionistas. We are already predicting massive sales for the white puffer coat and disco mirror ball tights. No one can wear them here, but style is never about function or utility.
