Campaign love: Michael Kors Fall 2012

We’ve always been of the opinion that clothes look best in advertising campaigns (we’re not fans of fashion show politics). There’s more drama, more emotion and more visual satisfaction we can derive from still images than a bunch of models walking down the runway.

And once again, Michael Kors’ Fall 2012 ad campaign proves our point. Inspired by jetset style and Hollywood glamour, the genuinely American label fuses the designer’s two most cherished themes to create a Tinseltown moment.

Photographed by Mario Testino at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, the captivating images draw inspiration from the backlots of golden-age Hollywood. Models Karmen Pedaru and Simon Nessman, appearing in their fifth campaign, are pictured together on a sound stage like a latter-day version of ‘30s icons Carole Lombard and Clark Gable.
