Design

The nautical aesthetic of the Saxon gives off an aura of an unapologetic, accomplished man. The round bezel, with engraved detailing and 16 encrusted diamonds totaling 0.30 carats, together with the mother of pearl-accented dial, is finished in an alluring rose gold. Be warned, at 46 millimetres wide, this watch is massive and should not be worn by someone looking for a thin, sleek watch.

The glass is synthetic sapphire, which means it’s virtually scratch-proof. Don’t worry about the synthetic part, as these days only Patek Philippe still uses natural sapphire in their watches.

The refinement of the circular shape and the industrial angularity of the cut-out buttons create a stark contrast that represents the clashing interests of today’s modern man. The braided leather strap caps off the overall design with an unmistakably masculine feel.

Functionality

While this piece does not monitor your heart rate or connect you directly to Langley, it does its job of telling the time and date fairly well. The mother of pearl sub-dials give information on the month, the day of the week and where in the day’s 24-hour radius you’re currently at, while the date is shown at the three o’ clock position.
