Pop into any of the boutiques this season and all you can see is fluoro brights and accent colours worn together like there’s been an alien invasion and they took all of Earth’s wardrobe neutrals back to their home planet.

Eye-popping colours may have become the biggest trend of 2011, but up-and-coming accessories designer Sandra J from Lebanon has been at it for at least two full seasons. Maybe shoppers were a little more wary of toting handbags that beg to be noticed (and worshipped) last year, but this year all roads lead to stores that stock Sandra J’s designer-inspired neon handbags.

We’re currently in love with the handbags that give a respectful, non-competitive nod to the Hermes and Chanel Kelly. Sandra J also reinterprets old-world luggage designs and turns them into show-stopping contemporary creations,  like this histrionic boxy doctor bag/trunk in sea green croc skin with gold studs. The combination is so very Valentino.
